I Have A Dream:
Since 1995, this church, along with other organizations, has
contributed to the I Have A Dream program in New Haven, CT. Of the
56 inner city fourth graders promised a college education upon
completion of high school, 45 graduated in 2003 and are now
enrolled in various colleges. Along the way, IHAD provided the
"dreamers" with tutoring, enrichment programs and help
with the college application process.

Clinton Social Services:
In addition to financial support, the church sponsors a monthly and a
February Bag It food collection, collects school supplies each
autumn and participates in a Christmas gift collection for social
service clients.

Emergency Relief Fund:
This fund is used at the discretion of the pastor and the Diaconate
Board to provide a source of immediate assistance, including but not
limited to, temporary housing, groceries, prescription medications, utility
bills and rental assistance.

Heifer Project International:
As participants in this program, each year our church school classes
designate their offerings toward the purchase of various food source
animals, ranging from chickens to goats to llamas. These animals, along
with information on their care, are then shipped as ongoing resources to
poverty stricken areas in more that 125 countries, including the United
States.

Clinton Soup Kitchen:
For more than 10 years, First Church, along with other local
congregations, has sponsored a Wednesday night meal site under the
auspices of Shoreline Soup Kitchens. Once a month, a First Church
team plans and provides an evening of food and
fellowship for our neighbors and the occasional weary traveler.

Habitat for Humanity:
Habitat provides home ownership opportunities in partnership with low
income working families. Our church provides funding, and a number of
our members have contributed their time, skills and energy on several
construction sites.
