First Church of Christ Congregational Clinton, CT
Dear Friends in Christ:

Carol and I want to express our sincere gratitude to you for your heartfelt prayers, kind words,
wonderful cards, beautiful flowers, and a good-sized fruit basket that you have sent after my mother
had passed away.  We do have a very caring and loving church family, and we certainly appreciate all
that you do and have done for us.  God has certainly blessed our family through our church.

And thank you very much for your generous donations of food items for the Shoreline Soup Kitchens
and Pantries!  In the recent Bag-It! Collection we received 53 bags and 732 pounds of food!  Special
thanks go to the Mission Committee for their help in organizing and bringing the food to the pantry.

This Sunday my morning message will be The Grace of a Second Chance based on the Scripture
lessons of Isaiah 55:1-9 and Luke 13:1-9.  We will share the sacrament of Holy Communion.  The
Confirmation Class meets at 8:30 a.m. and the Church School will meet during the service.  Also
please attend and share your new ideas at the Summer Fair Kick-Off meeting (with pizza) this Sunday
evening, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

Our Lenten Supper Series on Wednesday evenings continues with the theme of Our Covenant with
God and with One Another.  This Wednesday Dr. Margaret Bendroth, the executive director and
librarian of the American Congregational Association in Boston, will speak to us on Covenant in Our
Congregational Heritage.  The Building and Grounds, Finance, and Endowment Committees will be
the hosts.  Please bring a pot-luck item for the supper that begins at 6:30 p.m.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Chris
